Alon Barzilay, Founder and CEO, leads Barzilay Development in repurposing city spaces with innovative building transformations. His creativity and hands-on management approach is seen in every aspect of the way his company does business, from the projects developed to the imaginative way of handling design, construction and marketing.

Growing up in a family entrenched in real estate development meant that Alon began learning the industry and dreaming about starting his own company from the time he began playing with Legos. His father was an architect, city planner, and home building executive; his mother an interior designer.

Alon quickly established himself as a pioneer in urban adaptive reuse. Prior to founding Barzilay Development, he established his reputation as VP and Partner for the Klein Company, intrapreneurially worked for Toll Brothers’ apartment division, and helped launch a successful real estate marketing, New Home Search.

Barzilay received a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Organizational Behavior from Cornell University and a Master’s Degree in Housing and Real Estate Development from Harvard University.

Barzilay is involved in both the Philadelphia and New York City Chapters of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) and was named the winner for the National "EO Agents of Change" 2016 Award.

An active member of the community, Alon has served on the Executive Board of Jewish Family and Child Services (JFCS)’s Project Empower; is involved with the Project Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village in Rwanda, Seeds of Peace, and founded the Philadelphia Young Leader Group of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Barzilay's other interests include lecturing on real estate development and the entrepreneurial business lessons that can be learned from superhero movies. He also pilots helicopters, rides motor scooters, is an accomplished musician, and is currently an Executive Producer of an independent movie project.
